The Open Enrollment Period for 2018 has begun, and consumers are signing up for plans at a solid pace. Keys to stabilization of the ACA

By: | Tags:

As we noted last week, Standard and Poor’s analysis of Blue Cross plans across multiple states shows the individual market place is stabilizing. The key to maintaining this stabilization, and seeing the markets become profitable for carriers, is the continuation of Cost Sharing payments. Carriers see these payments as critical to continued stabilization. As noted in this Bloomberg Politics article, carriers such as Molina said, “the cost sharing payments are key to its decision” To stay in the marketplace. Barring any decisions to deny those payments by the federal government […]

A Bipartisan Approach to Reform

By: | Tags:

As conversations continue in Washington regarding the future of the ACA, Enroll365 remains focused on the potential impact this future will have on our clients and patients.  At the forefront of this concern is an understanding that the best answer to solving the differences that exist between the two parties in DC is the need for a bipartisan approach to reform. As the following NY Times article shows,(https://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/03/26/us/politics/bipartisanship-health-care-congress-trump.html?ad-keywords=ampmobile&partner=gamp), this reality is beginning to surface in DC as members of both sides of the aisle begin to see the need to […]

GOP pulls AHCA bill

By: | Tags:

On Friday, March 24th, 2017 the GOP AHCA bill meant to replace the ACA, was pulled when it was clear it would not get the votes needed to pass. Between the Democrats complete disinterest in considering the bill, and  the Republican’s inability to come to a consensus, the AHCA seemed doomed from the beginning. But, where does that leave your average American who understands the need for affordable health care coverage? Depending on where you get your news and information, you can be lead to believe the ACA as it […]

House Delays Vote

By: | Tags:

The House delays vote to repeal and replace the ACA with the AHCA yesterday due to a lack of votes needed to pass. With no support from the Democrat side of the aisle, and no consensus from the Republican side, as the Freedom Caucus demands deeper cuts to budgetary costs, and moderate conservatives voice concerns that the bill will leave far too many currently insured Americans uninsured, there seems to be little chance of the AHCA passing the house. Meanwhile the executive branch has sent an ultimatum to congress, pass […]
